Advantages of Our Non-Destructive Pipe Restoration Methods

  • Economical – Save on the cost, time, and inconvenience of restoring your property. Because our methods repair your sewer pipes from the inside, we don’t have to dig up your foundation, tear apart your floors, break your driveway or disturb your landscaping.

  • Long-Lasting – Pipes restored with Cured-In-Place Liner are typically stronger than PVC pipes, are more resistant to root penetration than newly installed pipes, and have a life expectancy of 50 years or more.

  • Fast – We can restore the main sewer drainage pipes of most single-family homes in a single day. While the addition of trunk lines or multi-story homes may require a little longer, our process is significantly faster than older remove and replace methods.

  • Minimal Disruption – Pipe restoration is completed without the mess and noise of excavation and in most cases much of the work is completed from outside of the house, minimizing the disruption to your household.

  • Hygienic & Environmentally Friendly – Relined pipe stops sewage and waste from leaking out of your pipes into the surrounding area and prevents effluent from leaking into neighboring properties.

  • Peace of Mind – Rest easy knowing that your newly restored pipes have a design life of 50 years and that our 5-Year Parts & Labor Warranty is one of the best in the business.

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary reason pipe restoration is so much less expensive than pipe replacement (re-piping), is because Champion Pipe Restoration rehabilitates pipes without having to dig up or destroy everything around them. In a classical pipe replacement scenario, pipes must be removed and replaced from behind walls, under slabs, under floors, and under driveways and yards. In many cases, this requires the expensive and time-consuming process of tearing up and repairing kitchens, flooring, slabs, sidewalks, asphalt, landscaping, etc. With traditional re-piping methods causing so much disruption, it’s easy to imagine how Champion Pipe Restoration can save customers as much as 40% or more over pipe replacement.

While there are several factors that influence how long pipe restoration will take, Champion Pipe Restoration can often restore sewer pipes for residences and smaller single-story commercial buildings in as little as one day. Larger homes and buildings may take longer, with high-rises often taking the longest. Regardless of the circumstances, our pipe restoration methods are almost always significantly faster than pipe replacement (and less expensive).

Our restoration methods are applicable to virtually every kind of pipe used in the construction trades. We commonly restore Cast-Iron, Vitrified Clay, PVC, Galvanized Steel, and Concrete pipes found in most sewer and drainage systems.

Yes, restored pipe is very root resistant. When Champion restores pipes, the resulting lined/coated pipe contains no joints or leaks. Roots are attracted to water. With no more leaks, there is no water for the roots to grow towards, and with no more joints, there are no crevices for roots to find their way into.

Our pipe liner is typically comprised of several layers consisting of a plasticized barrier, felt fabric, and interwoven fiberglass reinforcement. The liner’s layers are saturated in an epoxy resin, which cures to form a strong composite material much like the fiberglass that boats are made of. Cured liner is extremely durable and the materials have a design-life in excess of 50 years.

We typically restore up to 100 feet of 6″ pipe or 130 feet of 3″-4″ pipe in a single shot. For smaller diameter pipe, we can typically epoxy coat about 100 feet at a time, although multiple passes may be required. One “shot” is one continuous liner or coating installation initiated from a single access point. If the access point is a cut segment or a “T- fitting”, we can shoot in both directions, providing over 200 feet of restoration coverage from a single access point.

The simple answer is no. While there is a minimal reduction in interior diameter, the smooth surface of lined and coated pipe will usually improve flow capacity. In addition, prior to restoration, cleaning of the line will have removed roots and build-up that had previously impeded flow.

In terms of materials, the epoxies and composite liner materials employed by Champion Pipe Restoration have an engineered service life in excess of 50 years.

We have several methods for re-instating connections (branch lines) so that flow can be restored to trunk or mainlines. When access is available from the connecting line, we may utilize a milling cutter to cut the liner and open the connection back up. When access from the connecting line is not available, we utilize a specially engineered robotic cutter to reinstate connections.

In most cases,  homeowners are responsible for maintenance of the small diameter sewer pipes that connect their homes to the public sewer system. The homeowner’s responsibility typically ends where their “lateral” connection pipe crosses into the right-of-way near the roadside.

Sewer pipe inspections are required by law as a prerequisite to home sales in more and more locales every day. Informed buyers and real estate agents are increasingly demanding them as well. You may want to speak with your real-estate agent about the cost/benefit of preemptively performing repairs. Known sewer pipe problems that aren’t fully disclosed prior to a sale can also come back to bite sellers in the form of lawsuits down the road. At a minimum, proper maintenance and restoration can prevent the surprise and delay of costly repairs prior to a sale or, even worse, the loss of a sale due to a poor inspection report.

Drainage will be unavailable while our crews are working on site. Your drainage system will typically be operational by the time our crews leave each afternoon. Any overnight or longer-term unavailability is coordinated with the homeowner on a case-by-case basis.

Depending upon your home’s layout, we will either pull toilets or use roof vents to access the branch lines.

Usually, yes. The state requires a permit for residential, commercial, and industrial pipe restoration in most cases. Your sales representative will speak with you about permit requirements prior to scheduling restoration work so that we may pull the appropriate permits on your behalf.

Relax. We’ve got this.
